Stay tuned to 8 count news as we give you all the news you need in boxing. We tell you about potential signings, potential fights and upcoming fights as well as all the rumours in boxing.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., fresh off his successful defence of his title against Rubio on the weekend had to answer questions about whether he used a performance enhancing drug. The man who questioned that was none other than his opponent Marco Antonio Rubio. While I acknowledge the boxing commission in Texas is a joke, to me it sounds like sour grapes.

On February 18th Tavoris Cloud will defend his IBF light heavyweight title against Gabriel Campillo and fighting on the undercard is Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida, the first man to defeat James Kirkland. The fights take place on Showtime in Corpus Christie, Texas. Fighting that night in Germany will be Vitali Klitschko who will be defending his title against Dereck Chisora. Lennox Lewis gave Chisora a vote of confidence this week by suggesting that Chisora has a chance to beat Vitali. That very night at the Bell Center is the Adonis Stevenson vs. Jesus Gonzales super middleweight eliminator. This has the potential to be an entertaining bout as Gonzales and Stevenson both like to brawl. On February 25th Marcus Maidana faces Devon Alexander and Adrien Broner faces Eloy Perez.

Floyd Mayweather will face Miguel Cotto May 5th and Manny Pacquiao will face Timothy Bradley in June. On March 24th Vernon Paris will fight Zab Judah in an IBF Eliminator on NBC. This should be a good fight with Parris being an old school Detroit fighter looking to emerge as a contender.

Lamont Peterson is rumoured to be facing Juan Manuel Marquez next. Amir Khan is trying really hard to get the rematch but my feeling is Peterson is holding out for a bigger payday against Khan. Khan has many options as far as next opponents go; one of those opponents might be Robert Guerrero. Sergio Martinez is set to face Mathew Macklin March 17th in a bout that could be a good one.  One person who continues to blast Top Rank AND Chavez is Lou Dibella who continues to push for the fight with Martinez and rightfully so as Martinez title was stripped and than he was assured a fight with Chavez only for the WBC to change their mind. Good old Jose Sulaiman continues to show favouritism towards the Chavez family.
